Alberta

Alberta does not have a consolidated “family court rules” document published separately in the same way as Ontario or BC. Instead, family matters are governed by a combination of:

  • Family Law Act (statute) (procedural context) — the main legislative family law framework (interfaces with courts).

  • Provincial Court and King’s Bench procedures — Family matters in Alberta are handled in:

    • Alberta Court of Justice (Family Division) for support, parenting, child protection issues

    • Court of King’s Bench for divorce and property issues
These courts use procedural rules (e.g., Provincial Court Act and Rules of Court for King’s Bench) rather than a single “family rules” document.
