What is Parental Alienation?
Parental alienation can occur in many different ways. A common presentation is when a child is prevented from having a relationship with one of their parents due to manipulation such as coercive control and the conveying of exaggerated or false information by the other parent. The child may also refuse to engage with the other parent as a result of these actions. The situation most often arises in cases of divorce or separation, where one parent attempts to control the parenting time and decision making arrangements and/or withholds the child from the other parent. This often happens out of spite for the other parent and may be motivated by financial incentives.
Our Story
P.A.P.A. was originally founded in 2016 by Simon Cobb, a UK-based father who was facing parental alienation and having to navigate the family court system at a time when parental alienation was relatively unknown, and supports we virtually non-existent. His vision was to change that by creating awareness and providing support for others navigating similar challenges in their lives and within the family court system. This goal has become a reality with P.A.P.A.'s growth and expansion across the world. P.A.P.A. now has a massive following and provides new and effective tools and support mechanisms.
Canadian and U.S.A. chapters were established to offer local support networks as well as resources specifically tailored to Canadian and U.S. family laws.
We are a dedicated team of volunteers, driven by a passion for the mental and physical well-being of those affected by parental alienation, and the pursuit of equal parenting . Spanning the globe, our team will continue to work towards fair legal process that is truly in the best interest of the children, while providing support and assistance to those who need it, and working towards changes to the judicial system to better protect the rights and future of parents and children.

Our Mission
P.A.P.A. campaigns for equal parenting rights and shared care, always putting the child’s best interests first. While we provide free support and resources to help families navigate the current family law system, we are also dedicated to changing it. Through rigorous research and targeted advocacy, we combat harmful bills, propose legislative solutions, and fight for a legal presumption of equal parental responsibility. Join us in our mission to reform family law and protect the bond between children and both their parents.
